Denmark’s national team jersey for the 2022 World Cup is inspired by the Danish national team's iconic ’92 jersey and marks the 30th anniversary of the European title, while also honouring Denmark's stars of today. At the same time, the jersey features a subtle protest against violations of human rights.

June 26 1992, will forever be printed in the memory of Danish football fans as Denmark became European champions with a 2-0 win against Germany. True legends were born that day - and to mark the 30th anniversary of the greatest triumph in Danish football, the new national team jersey for the upcoming World Cup has been designed with inspiration from the jersey worn back in 1992.

Today’s stars are named Simon Kjær, Christian Eriksen, Kasper Schmeichel and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, and the new jersey is also very much a tribute to these current Danish heroes. Simply, because we’re about to enter a new era in Danish national team football. That’s also why, the jersey is more than a nostalgic tribute to the old legends. It is a symbol of the fact that tomorrow’s legends are born now.

The 2022 Danish World Cup kit has been created in close collaboration with DBU and it introduces a red home jersey, a white away jersey and a black third jersey. The overall mission of the jerseys is to unite and inspire the Danish population during the 2022 World Cup. However, the jerseys also contain another statement. By toning down all details - including the hummel® logo and the iconic chevrons, hummel® wants to show protest against Qatar as a host nation for the World Cup and create a necessary debate about human rights. The black third jersey in particular is intended as a pause for thought and time for reflection on the importance of human rights and compliance with them. Sport is meant for bringing people together - and when it doesn't, we want to speak up.
